About the event
In this presentation, pianist, educator, and music historian, Dr. Yui will explore the literature of piano music by composers from Asia and its expatriates. The social history and the cultural imperialism of the western music in selected countries will be discussed as we examine works composed from the late nineteenth into the twentieth centuries.
